Since commencing business
in 1994 over 250 people are currently
in long-term relationships through our
service. Many of them are now married
and some have children. Overall, about
one in eight of our members will find
a partner through Tablemates. Along the
way, many of our members have also extended
their network of friends.
Attention to detail
and an overall pursuit of high quality
form the backbone of our operation. We
pride ourselves on being Melbourne’s
Premier Dinner Club by creating ongoing
value for our members.
As of June 2008, Tablemates is the only Dinner Club in Melbourne owned and operated by the same person for more than one year. Brian Boyce has personally interviewed and matched over 3,500 people in the 14 years since the inception of Tablemates.
People who join Tablemates
are often time-poor and concerned about
how they spend their leisure time and

We work differently
to other Dinner Clubs. Firstly, we meet
you personally to establish your needs.
Secondly, we ask for your availability
and then choose an appropriate group and
restaurant and thirdly, we hear back directly
from over 95% of diners after the evenings.
As a result we know
exactly who is enjoying whose company
which allows us to fine-tune the next
dinner for you.
Our members are committed
to Tablemates, which means for you that
99% of diners turn up on the evening.
In case something unforeseen happens our
members will inform us and we can find
a replacement even at short notice to
ensure a high quality dinner nonetheless.
As a result
over one third of our members join Tablemates
through word of mouth.

About
Brian, Proprietor
Brian grew up in Warrnambool, Victoria.
He completed a Bachelor of Business Studies
and from 1982 to 1988 worked at the City
of Melbourne in an Accounting and Administration
role. He left that job and lived in London
for three and a half years, travelling
extensively in Europe, North Africa, the
Middle East and China.
On his return to Australia
in 1992 he completed a Graduate Diploma
in Tourism Management at University of
Technology, Sydney. In order to expand
his social network he joined a number
of clubs in the harbour city including
a Dinner Club.
It was here that he
got the idea to start Tablemates and on
returning to Melbourne in early 1994 he
extensively researched the singles scene
. Success came early as on the first
Tablemates dinner, held 21st July 1994
a couple met and now have two children
as a result.
While touring Portugal
in 1989 he met his Swiss born wife Isabel
and they married in Melbourne in September
1997. They had their second child in 2007.
Brian is active in the community, of late being Treasurer of the local Toy Library, playing guitar and singing at his daughter’s kindergarten and running men’s groups in the area.
Leonie, Customer Service
Leonie joined Tablemates in 1996 and has become an integral part of the business. She also works as a volunteer in her local community utilising her studies in community health and counselling.
Isabel, Marketing
Since having children Isabel is a stay-at-home mum. As well, she manages the marketing and runs special projects for Tablemates. She has a background in the tourism and airline industry. Her experience and qualifications are in Workplace Training and Assessment and she holds a Graduate Diploma in Marketing from RMIT.
