Our aim is to maintain a balanced membership across gender and age groups as well as to provide you with a memorable dining experience.
People
You may join Tablemates if you are not in a committed relationship and at least 18 years of age. Typically, our membership ranges from late-twenties to early seventies, with 95% of the people aged between 30 to 70.
The majority
of our members are tertiary educated however,
this is not a criteria. It is far more important
that you have a positive approach to life, are
open-mind and genuinely willing to engage in
stimulating conversation. At Tablemates, people
are bonded by the common goal to meet someone
special and the dinners provide the perfect forum. Therefore,
the desire to contribute to a conversation and
actively listen to others is critical to make
our service work for you and the other diners.
While most
people are from Greater Melbourne some members
reside in parts of country Victoria such as
Geelong or Ballarat. We also cater for people
who are new to Melbourne who are looking for
someone special or just wish to build a network
of friends.
Places
The restaurants are a key element to the success
of your night out. They have all been hand-picked
to ensure our quality standards such as a round
table, separate bills and a glass of champagne
on arrival are met. Part of our selection criteria
is also that they offer good value for money
and are reasonably priced. Over the years we
have built up an excellent working relationship
with these restaurants and they understand your
needs on the night.
To facilitate
easy access for the majority of our members
the restaurants are generally located in the
inner city suburbs of Richmond, South Yarra,
Malvern, Armadale and Hawthorn.
We provide
you with the starting time, the name the booking
has been made under, the location of the restaurant
with a Melways and UBD reference and hints on
nearby parking. We further let you know about
the cuisine, the ambience of the restaurant,
suitable attire for the night as well as the
relevant alcohol licence. Last but not least
we also provide you with the first names of
the five other diners prior to the night. All
of this should ensure you arrive in a relaxed
frame of mind, set for a really good night.
Prices
Our joining cost of $195 (incl GST) is a once off administrative fee to cover the interview and database set-up. We sometimes run specials to attract certain age groups and/or gender in order to keep our membership numbers balanced.
Once you are registered you remain on our database until you ask us to remove your particulars. We are very flexible with our approach as we understand that life can take unexpected turns. As such, you can also choose to have your record put on hold for a period of time and reactivate if things change.
The booking
fee for each evening, inclusive of GST is either
$30 ($90 for 3 dinners) or $35 (if paid individually).
On the night you pay for whatever you have ordered.
